We are able to recommend suitable schools and manage schools applications from the initial visits to accepting a place. This can be particularly helpful when students if the family is not resident in the U.K. We organise school visits, advise on entrance tests and, if required, are able to provide teaching materials and tuition to prepare for these.
To understand what is best for the pupil or student, we meet them with parents. We review academic progress and then make recommendations about which schools would be most suitable. Students are able to take the Cambridge Occupational Analysts Aptitude Tests online which gives an objective assessment of academic ability. This can be helpful, not just in choosing which schools to apply to but it also provides prospective schools with objective evidence of the student's strengths. We also advise on different academic options such as A Levels and the International Baccalaureate. We make recommendations about which GCSE, A Level or IB subjects should be studied in relation to university entrance.
To gain up to date information about each school, we read inspection reports and league table listings. We check exam results by subject so we are aware of the relative subject strengths within the school. We talk to staff, listen to parents, and take note of staff changes.
The entry points into UK boarding schools are normally at age 11+, 13+ and 16+ but schools consider students at other ages. Students are normally required to take entrance tests and attend an interview. The level of competition for places in British boarding schools varies depending on how academically selective the school is, as well as its location and reputation. For students who may wish to do a pre-university one year in the UK, we are able to advise on tutorial colleges, both boarding and day.
The consultancy is able to advise and manage applications to London day schools. For parents living abroad we are able to manage the entire application process: we make recommendations in relation to the pupil’s academic ability, level of English (for international students) and preferred location. For those relocating to London, we are able to liaise with schools at short notice and advise on areas to live in London.
Boarding Schools: Sevenoaks, Wellington, Malvern, Greshams, Haileybury, Rugby, Millfield, London day schools: Francis Holland, Clarence Gate, Wetherby Prep, Portland Place School, Notting Hill Prep, Arts Educational
Bien cordialement,' T & H L, Paris, France September 2013
'Dear Elizabeth I wanted to let you know that we visited Broomfield House yesterday and had a great time. The school obviously has a very good academic level and also I was most impressed by atmosphere and the personal development of the children. Their staff were very diligent in both settling Leo into a class for a mornings lessons and assessing his academic level with subtility. He enjoyed himself so much that his first words on coming out were that he really wanted to go to that school, which is wonderful as he was rather apprehensive about going into any English school. They did make an offer and we will be accepting. Thank you so much for your help in finding a place for Leo, it has taken away a large area of uncertainty and stress in our move from France. I very much appreciate professional assistance you have provided. RegardsJS Paris, France June 2013
'I can't thank you enough for seeing Matilda and offering us so much constructive advice. I really can't tell you what a difference it has already made. We are going to have a look at a few schools, as you suggest. Thank you again for your help and very best wishes.'Annie, June 2011 UK
'Nicholas has been accepted into Wetherby for Y 7 entry. We are very very happy and have accepted the offer. Thank you very much for your precious help; families who moved without help did not get anywhere near the good schools! My best regards.'Livia. Italy March 2011

'We are writing you to inform you that Chiara completed entrance tests at Sevenoaks, Malvern and Wellington; she got positive results and place offers by all of them, and decided to accept the offer of Sevenoaks. We are very happy and excited (especially Chiara ...) and look forward next August when she will join the school. We would like to thank you for your very kind and professional help in the process: it was effective and useful. Thanks.'Mauro, Lucia and Chiara. Italy December 2011
